GST on Low Value Imported Goods
There have been recent changes to the laws covering goods imported into Australia. You may find you are now paying GST on items where you previously didn’t.
This is a timely reminder to check your tax invoices to see if some of the overseas businesses you purchase from are now including GST in their price.
Things to look out for would be, for example, monthly subscriptions for items such as computer software and purchases generally. These transactions can be setup to code automatically in your accounting software and can be easily overlooked.
